Candes-Saint-Martin

Candes-Saint-Martin stands in Indre-et-Loire at the confluence of the Loire and the Vienne. Its pale tuffeau houses, slate roofs and narrow streets belong to the architectural landscape of western Touraine. The collegiate church of Saint-Martin is the village’s principal monument; its substantial silhouette combines religious architecture with defensive features.
